Volunteer of the Year honoured

Jenna Speirs, a customer service partner in Waitrose Morningside was honoured in 2015 to receive Volunteer of the Year award from the Charity Champions sector. The award was in relation to all the work she does for her brothers charity “Calums Cabin”.

Calums Cabin is a charity on the Isle of Bute in memory of her twin brother who at the age of 11 was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, Calum sadly lost his battle 13 months later.

Calums Cabin and Calums Cabin Cottage are holiday homes on Bute where children suffering from cancer and cancer related diseases come with their families to make irreplaceable memories, spend quality family time together and recharge their batteries for what may lie ahead. This year alone Calums Cabin has helped 122 families and over 600 families since opening in 2009.
